CROCUS TERRORIST ATTACK AND THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE!
(Photo: Handshake with Russian Ambassador to Uganda Mr. Vladlen Semivolos at the Russian embassy in Kampala)
I left a single flower outside the Russian Embassy in Kampala in condolence for the victims of the March 22nd Crocus hall terrorist attack in Moscow. Two days later I was surprised to receive a letter of appreciation from the Russian ambassador himself H.E. Vladlen Semivolos.
He informed me that I was the first and only Ugandan who jad made the effort to come and express condolences to the Russian Embassy in Uganda. Shame! I wondered where our government officials were, the people who are paid to maintain, navigate, and nurture foreign relations? Clearly this ommission was unprofessional, inhumane and insensitive behaviour on their part, especially when they are doing this to Uganda's long-time real friends.
Anyway I would also like to express my appreciation in return to His Excellency the Russian Ambassador for taking almost an hour where we had a great discussion about my late father President Idi Amin Dada, Russia's historic partnership with Africa, global peace & security today, the fight against terrorism, the Russian Embassies ongoing programs for the people of Uganda, and the important lessons that all policy makers around the world can learn for free by studying Russia's successful economic security policies that have sustained growth, development and monetary stability in the last two years followiing the unprecedented myriad of Western sanctions which have failed because of those novelty economic security policies.
Of course, I also inquired about the plight of the people of Donbass and Crimea. My question was, why are NATO allies and Kiev fighting to reclaim territories whose populations do not want to be under NATO and Kiev brutality? This means that these allies are not conducting a fight for democracy. Otherwise, they would have accepted those peoples choice where they have already indicated under who they want to be governed.
What NATO and Kiev are doing is, therefore, a fight to resume heinous retribution on those "separatist populations" like they did for eight years against the people of Donbass. A genocidal and ethnic cleansing tyrrany that the Russian military put an end to on 24th February 2022 when it launched the Special Military Operation under international law (namely Article 51, Chapter 7 of the UN Charter as declared that very day by the Russian President in his globally televised speech), international rules designed to protect such persecuted civilian populations anywhere in the world.
I also agreed with the ambassador that any call for the return of those territories to Ukraine amounts to putting those populations once again in serious mortal danger from Kiev and NATO.
I therefore call on all countries in the international community to rescind their votes from any UN Resolutions that put civilians in danger likevthe resolution that calls for the return of the annexed territories because such an act would immediately lead to more bloodshed and retribution by Kiev against an internationally neglected civilian population that, incredibly, has not lived in any peace since 2014 like everybody else.
Again, our condolences to the Russian people for the March 22nd terror attack.
Signed: Lumumba Amin.
